Playing and studying at Wesleyan has been a great experience, which I can’t wait to continue. Along the way, I have made some great friends and teammates. My team at Wesleyan is the best part of the whole experience for me. Forget the supersize McDonalds and the funny accents, my team made this first year so memorable. Made up of 8 nationalities and 5 continents, my team has had me crying with laughter when travelling, and of course, our great winning record makes it even better.
Playing for a college team in the States is far from easy, however. Early training session’s followed by class and more training is hard work. You have to be ready every day to put your best in, or at least come up with a good excuse not to. It all paid off for us, however. Losing to only one team all season saw WVWC come second in our conference (League) and region (four states) missing out in competing in the national finals by just one match, but as a team, we all agreed, at the end of our season that no team had such a good time as we did. Travelling and staying in hotels with some of your best friends creates a life experience better than any other.
